York House has a strong sporting reputation with successes achieved in all major sports. A specialist Director of Sport oversees the programme and we have a number of dedicated sports and PE staff. As well as afternoon sport, each class has a weekly PE lesson and a weekly swimming lesson, starting from the age of 4 as we aim to give broad exposure to general exercise, as well as education in the fundamentals of healthy living.
Each year we have have the pleasure of hosting both Aviva Rugby Premiership Champions Saracens RFC to host training sessions and Tottenham Hotspur FC holding half-term Soccer Schools and provided training sessions to our pupils at York House. These community partner relationships are a wonderful experience for the children and epitomise the high standards that we aim for at York House School.

Many of our girls and boys enjoy a wide range of sports outside of school hours, and there is a list to the right of this page providing contact details for some of the local clubs.
Children from the age of 4 years enjoy weekly swimming lessons as part of the standard curriculum. Our swimming instructor is fully qualified and adept at encouraging even the most nervous beginners to start to swim. They soon become proficient swimmers and then it becomes a struggle to get them out of the water!
We also have extra-curricular swimming clubs and there are regular swimming galas against other schools, along with inter-house competitions.
We strongly believe in giving our children, and where possible, the wider local community, the very best opportunities to broaden their life experience whilst learning at York House School. Our sporting community partnerships with Saracens RFC and Tottenham Hotspur FC allows us to use our excellent facilities to host training sessions with the current rugby union champions and one of the biggest football clubs in Europe to showcase their Soccer Schools each term.
