We hope you have enjoyed looking at our school website, we hope it has given you a glimpse of York House.  Headmaster Tour

Before the registration process begins we warmly invite parents to come and visit the school at one of our Open Days held on Saturday mornings once a term, dates for these are advertised on our website.

After an Open Day, the next step on the admissions journey is to come and meet the Headmaster who will meet with you and show you our wonderful school.

It is often at this point parents choose to register.

 Registration

Prospective pupils may be registered for admission at any time after birth and registration should ideally be received at least a year ahead of the desired date of admission (eg by September 2017 for September 2018 admission).  Registration takes place by competing the registration form that is included with our prospectus information. This form should be returned along with a non-refundable registration fee of £100, to Mrs Natalie Fitzgibbon, Admissions Department, Sarratt Road, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, WD3 4LW, alternatively this can be paid via…..

 Entry points

Children typically join York House at Nursery or Reception (known as 3+ and 4+). Another entry point is into our Middle School at Y3 or Y4 (known as 7+ or 8+) and some children join us for the last two years at 11+ for Y7 and Y8.

On occasion we have do have spaces in other year groups, due to relocation and we are happy to meet with families on an individual basis. 

 3 + Entry

Children are invited to take part in an assessment and taster session during the term before they wish to start in the Nursery at York House. Typically sessions are run in small groups and are in the morning.

 4 + Entry

Entry for Reception requires the children to visit us for about an hour, during this time we aim to maintain a warm and relaxed atmosphere so the children and parents are relaxed and enjoy the session.  Assessments will take place in October, November and January. 

Offer letters are typically posted up to two weeks after the assessment, you are then required to confirm and pay a deposit of £1000.00 to secure your daughter/sons place at York House School the assessment date.

All assessment will begin at 9.30am and a letter invitation will be sent to registered families, offering them a date and giving more detail about the assessment session for 4+ and 3+

 assessment for Y1 -Y8

Children who are seeking a space from Y1 upwards are asked to spend time at York House with the current cohort. Children will also complete an age appropriate assessment typically including Maths and English.

 OFFERS AND WANITING LISTS

Children may be offered a place, declined a place or placed on a waiting list. We refresh our waiting lists regularly and will communicate any changes, if you do not wish to stay on the waiting list for a place, parents should inform the registrar.

School Fees for the Academic Year

September 2017 to July 2018

 

Nursery                        Fees will vary according to attendance, however if based on one session £295 would be a term fees, we request children complete 4 sessions (two days) a week.

                                    Reception        £3345.00                       Year 1  £3685.00

                                    Year 2              £3925.00                       Year 3 to Year 8 £4455.00

Registration                 £100.00 non-refundable

Acceptance Deposit     £1000.00 payable upon acceptance of the offer of a place.

                                    £575.00 refundable against the first terms fees.

                                    £425.00 is subject to any deductions, refundable at normal leaving age of

                                    11+ or 13+.  This deposit is non-refundable in cases of pupils leaving early.

Waiting List                 Are applicable to some year groups.  Please speak with the School Office for

                                    further details.

Direct Debit                 Monthly arrangements can be arranged through: www.sfpschoolfees.co.uk

Fees include                 Lunch, text books, stationary, art and craft materials and match expenses,

                                    Pupil Personal Accident Insurance.

Assessments               Age 3+ and 4+ October & January & for families relocating we can assess as required.

                                    Assessment test for Pre-Prep                  Y1 & Y2 as required.

                                    Entrance Test for Prep School                  Y3 to Y8 as required

Note                             Additional charges for special outings, tickets and other activities are advised

                                       in advance, including some clubs and afterschool care and hot tea.                                         

Bursary Assistance

 

Bursary assistance is available in cases of financial hardship, where this makes it possible for a child to join and / or remain at the School. This is strictly means tested by using an outside organisation. New bursaries will usually be considered from entry at Year 3 but existing hardship cases maybe looked at from reception upwards.
