11th Dec: The congregation of Boys, Parents, Governors and other visitors enjoyed a wonderful
Carol Service today - thank you to all involved, especially the Choirs, the Readers, and Mr Biggs.
5th Dec: Parents, boys, staff and other visitors have enjoyed lots of treats this week -
the Seniors' Theatre Trip, the Juniors' Party, the KG & PP Plays, ending with the amazing Salvation
Army & YHS Senior Choir Christmas Concert. Many thanks to all involved.
19th Nov: In the Under 10 Football Tournament today our A Team boys finished 4th in their
group and the B Team boys were 3rd in theirs.
17th Nov: Several good performances in the Swimming Match today enabled our team to finish
2nd, behind Aldwickbury but ahead of Lochinver House.
12th Nov: Against Beechwood Park school today, our 1st and 2nd XIs lost but the Colts won
their game 2-0.
8th Nov: The Parents' Association put on an excellent Fireworks Party and the Display
was quite spectacular - thank you to all involved.
7th Nov: Congratulations to all the Form 8 Boys promoted to Prefect today and also to our
new Head Boy, Rahul.
5th Nov: If we ever had a plot to blow away the opposition, it was foiled today by the skilful
players of Lochinver House School who managed to beat all our football teams.
16th Oct: Pleasing results against Davenies and St Martins - our Under 9 swimmers were 1st,
and our Under 10s and Under 11s were 2nd.
16th Oct. The school resumed as normal from 8.20 a.m. today (Thursday), as we now
have our own generator.
15th Oct: The school was closed for today (Wednesday) due to a major power failure; today's
matches and concert have been postponed.
13th Oct: In the swimming today there were lots of good individual performances but overall
we lost the match to the St George's Team.
8th Oct: Only the 1st XI succeeded in beating their opponents, Lockers Park, today; the 2nd XI
lost to the same school, and our Under 10 and Under 11 Teams were beaten by Berkhamsted.
4th Oct: Our U10s played some good football today to come 4th out of 8 schools at the Berkhamsted
Tournament. The overall winners were the boys from Radlett Prep School.
1st Oct: Yet more pleasing results today in football v. St Martin's - 1st XI drew,
2nd XI lost, Colts A won, Colts B won.
24th Sept: Football v. St George's - 1st XI won 2-0, 2nd XI lost 1-0, Colts A won 3-0,
Colts B won 3-2.
22nd Sept: Both Colts Teams A & B played St Anthony's today and both won 6-2. Well done boys!
17th Sept: Better results for our football teams today - against Keble Prep the 1st XI drew and the
2nd XI won; against Radlett Prep the Colts A drew and the Colts B won.
13th Sept: Unlucky 13th for most of our football teams playing Aldwickbury today - all losing
except our Colts B team who achieved a 2-2 draw.

Recent News:
3rd July: It was a pleasure to see so many old boys at the Old Yorkists' Cricket Match, and they beat
the 1st XI this year, scoring lots of 4s and 6s.
2nd July: A good day for cricket v, Lochinver House School - the Colts A Team drew, and the Colts B
1st XI and 2nd XI all won their matches - well done boys.
1st July: A packed hall enjoyed a very pleasant evening of recitations and music at the Senior
Arts Festival - well done and thank you to all involved.
28th June: Sports Day Forms 5-8 - Marlborough 4th, Nelson 3rd, Wellington 2nd and Drake 1st.
Well done Drake and all the athletes who performed so well today.
27th June: After a long match, Anish won the Tennis Singles Final - Well Done!
25th June: Our 1st XI, 2nd XI and Colts A Teams all lost to Lockers Park teams today,
but our unbeaten Colts B Team kept up their record winning by 61 runs.
20th June: The Colts A Team lost in a 25 overs match to St John's Colts today.
18th June: Our 1st and 2nd X1 were beaten by Berkhamsted teams today.
16th June: Senior Inter-House Cricket Final - Wellington beat Drake to win the competition; Marlborough beat Nelson to get 3rd place.
14th June: Junior Sports Day - After lots of splendid athletics, the results were:
Marlborough 1st, Wellington 2nd, Nelson 3rd and Drake 4th. Well done Marlborough boys!
13th June: Congratulations to all our Form 8 boys for many splendid Common Entrance results -
Well Done!
4th June: The Year 5 & 6 Gala was won by Nelson, with Marlborough 2nd, Wellington 3rd
and Drake 4th. This makes the overall results (Years 3 to 8 combined): 1st Marlborough,
2nd Nelson, 3rd Wellington and 4th Drake.
22nd May: In the last round of the Herts Swimming League today our swimmers did very well.
Against 9 other schools, our Year 4 Team came 4th, our Year 5 Team came 4th and our Year 6
Team came 1st. Well done boys!
21st May: The Colts B Cricketers remain top YHS team after another victory today,
beating Beechwood Park School.
15+17th May: Two successful Open Mornings - thank you to all involved, especially the
excellent Tour Guides from Years 7 & 8.
14th May: Our Colts A & B teams did very well today, both beating St Anthony's School teams -
Well Done!
12th May: Senior Inter-House Cricket Semi-Finals - Drake beat Nelson and Wellington
beat Marlborough.
10th May: Cricket v. Aldwickbury - 1st XI drew, 2nd XI and Colts A lost, Colts B won.
7th May: Great results from our cricketers in the matches against St Martins - The 1st XI,
Colts A and Colts B all won, and the 2nd XI drew. Well done boys!
1st May: Our swimmers did well today, beating St Martins by 83 points to 64.
28th April: A close contest for the U11 Inter-House Cricket resulted in Nelson 1st, Wellington 2nd,
Marlborough 3rd and Drake 4th.
24th April: Thank you to Mr Biggs and all the boys who entertained us with so many
wonderful musical performances in this evening's Informal Concert
22nd April: Junior Inter-House Swimming Gala - 1st Marlborough 63, 2nd Nelson 61,
3rd Wellington 58, and 4th Drake 37.
18th April: Congratulations to all those who took Music Examinations at the end of last
term on achieving splendid results.

Spring Term 2008
17th March: U10 and Colts Rugby - Both our teams scored convincing victories over the St Anthony's
teams today. Well done, boys!
13&14 March: Two big evening audiences enjoyed the splendid production of "Treasure Island" - Well Done
and Thank You to all involved.
12th March: Forms 5 & 6 Inter-House Rugby was won by Wellington House today - won 2 matches
and drew 1 match.
5th March: Colts Sevens at St John's - our team played some very good rugby today but did not
make it through the pool round. Our 1st XV played very well against a MTS XV and drew 17-17.
1st March: None of our teams managed to beat the strong Aldwickbury teams in the rugby matches
today. The Colts came close but lost by a try in the last minutes of the match.
27th Feb: 1st XV v. Lockers Park and Colts v. Beechwood Park - both our teams lost today,
but our 1st Team played very well and lost by only 4 points.
20th Feb: Matches v. Lochinver - 1st XV lost 29-15; Colts won 28-21; U10A lost 10-20;
U10/11B lost 10-45. Well Done Colts!
18th Feb: The two-term rugby school, St John's, proved to be too strong for our teams today,
beating our 1st XV 32-12, Colts 7-42 and U10s 5-25.
6th Feb: Rugby v. St Martin's - Our 1st XV (away) were narrowly beaten in a close game, 20-14;
our Colts XII (home) beat St Martin's Colts convincingly, 38-0: Well Done Boys!
3rd Feb: Rugby Nationals - Although our boys did not win any of their matches, they began to
play some good rugby at times, and the experience was valuable.
30th Jan: Although our teams played some good rugby today, all were beaten by St George's.
1st XV (away) 29-0; Colts XII (home) 21-24; U10 IX (home) 5-15.
21st Jan: York House Inter-School Cross Country - Beechwood won the U13 Race (YHS 5th
out of 10 schools) and Aldwickbury won the U11 Race (YHS 6th out of 9 schools).
17th Jan: U9 cross Country - the York House teams were 2nd overall, against St Martin's
and St John's; Christopher gained 2nd place and Byron was 3rd - Well Done!
14th Jan: Wellington beat every other House to win the Senior Inter-House Rugby
Tournament today: points for 85, points against 0 - Well Done!
11th Jan: The Marlborough House boys were the overall winners of the Inter-House
Cross Country today - Well Done!
