Pupils ranging from Kindergarten to Year 8 delighted the attending parents, governors and Old Yorkists with their performance of a beautiful four-part ensemble song at the Founders Day Service held at Merchant Taylors School Great Hall last Saturday, 12th February.
The service was led by Reverend Mugan of All Saints, Croxley Green and comprised prayers, songs from the combined Junior and Senior choir, and a special message sent by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Entertaining anecdotes and reflections upon life at York House through the years were delivered by Mr Bill Sylvester (pupil circa 1945), Mr Crispin Cole (pupil 30 years ago, and current Deputy Head) and Ben Bell and Jack Fosberry, the current Head Boys.
A tremendous sum of £859.14 was gathered at the retiring collection, and will be divided between the George Pickard Fellowship and 'Kids Company'. Thanks to all attended and contributed so generously.
