Jubilee Street Party 2012

The sun shone and the crowns sparkled as the whole school regaled themselves in red, white and blue and enjoyed a feast fit for a king (or queen!) on the York House School drive.

Over 250 girls, boys and staff enjoyed a wonderful lunch together with the spirit of true British-ness regaled across the front of our Queen Anne School House as we heard music from the likes of Dame Vera Lynn to a resplendent version of the National Anthem, led by the dulcet tones of the Headmaster...

The level of effort the children put into the making of their crowns was truly excellent and really helped to make the occasion special.

After a super lunch the children gathered on the athletics track to watch a mesmerising and highly interesting bird display. From owls to hawks to vultures, many children were able to hold one of these magnificent creatures on a protected gloved-hand, and see them in flight from close quarters.

A great day was had by all indeed, and not a single drop of rain either. How very un-British!
