Our Year 6 children have arrived safely at their destination to cloudy but dry conditions!

Monday 17th June
Year 6, Mr Bungard, Mr Thomas and Miss Mackenzie left York House School at 11ish to go to Liddington PGL centre which was to be our home for 4 nights!

We had a good journey and arrived in time to eat our packed lunches and enjoy a few games of football and Frisbee.  Our instructor Sarah introduced herself to our group and took us on a tour of the centre and a fire drill before showing the boys their rooms.

After a game on the field we had a delicious dinner of sausages or Thai chicken curry (with a vegetarian option of course) before heading out to play Capture the Flag!  The boys all had a great time and went to sleep quite quickly after a tiring first day!

Tuesday 18th June
The boys woke up very early and enjoyed a breakfast of bacon, hash browns, spaghetti, yogurt, cereals, fruit and toast before heading out for two sessions. We enjoyed canoeing, mountain biking and the giant swing and the staff enjoyed them too!

As the staff are taking part in most of the activities it is quite hard to take photos during the session but there will be group photos taken daily.

They are now playing games outside before lunch before another two sessions this afternoon.
All the boys are well and enjoying themselves.

Wednesday 19th June

We woke on day three to sunshine!  After a hearty breakfast and plenty of suncream application, we headed out for some morning sessions.  There was the vertical challenge and survival tasks as well as archery and the trapeze.

The children enjoyed all the sessions and pushed themselves to improve and go beyond their own challenges.  They encouraged each other to reach their potential and worked hard and well in a team.

After lunch we climbed the trapeze and did some initiative challenges which involved guided the staff blindfolded across an obstacle course!  It was great fun.

We had dinner, played football and now the boys are out playing "Wacky races".  The sun shone today but many of our activities were in the shade which was good.  Zip wire, Archery, giant swing and tunnel challenge are tomorrow's sessions!
