Maths Week 2015
Maths Week 2015

York House Maths Week 2015 starts on Monday 8 June...

Our theme for the week is “Universal Maths!”

Our aims for the week include:

  • To develop the pupils knowledge and enjoyment of mathematics
  • For the children to enjoy maths together
  • To develop the children’s awareness of links between maths and other subject areas
  • To have a chance to try new things
  • To develop thinking skills
  • To get involved in various mathematical puzzles and challenges

During Maths Week, all students across the school will take part in a range of activities alongside the normal school curriculum.  It should provide a fantastic opportunity to learn Maths in an alternative way through various hands on experiences.

The activities we plan on having include: outdoor mathematical investigations, mathematical puzzles, challenges, and various competitions.

We really hope the range of fun, interesting mathematical activities will inspire the children and promote the enjoyment of maths throughout the school.
