This community-centred approach reflects our values of compassion, collaboration, and social responsibility, encouraging our pupils to contribute positively to both local and global causes.
We are proud to partner with nine primary schools, benefiting over 200 state school children by providing access to our swimming pool and sports facilities. Local primary schools take part in hockey, badminton, and pop lacrosse skill sessions throughout the year, led by York House School staff, and participate in football tournaments and inter-school cross-country events.
Various year groups from St Paul’s School Langleybury and Little Green School are taught swimming every week by our team, with transport provided for their pupils.
We also collaborate with local sports clubs such as Chorleywood Cricket Club and Eastcote Hockey Club, offering our facilities for events including camping with “Skills Force,” a charity patroned by Prince William. Additionally, we provide swimming and mountain biking opportunities for local Sea Cadets. Our IT specialist works with Greenfield Primary School, supporting their playground activities, while our “Classics for All” initiative encourages local primary schools to introduce Latin in an engaging way.
Other clubs, such as Redheath Archery Club and Chorleywood Cricket Club, also use our facilities. Our Head of Outdoor Activities runs campouts and activities for Sarratt Primary School, and their pupils also get involved in our animal care programme.
York House School is equally dedicated to charitable activities, encouraging pupils to support both local and global causes. Through fundraising, volunteering, and donation drives, we foster a sense of compassion and responsibility, helping pupils make a positive impact on their community and beyond.
Over the past year, we have supported charities including BBC Children in Need, Action for Children, Leukaemia UK, the Rainbow Trust, and the Poppy Appeal. Thanks to the generous support of our families, friends, and staff, we raised over £7,000 last year.
In addition to these charitable efforts, York House School generously offers its pool, facilities, and expertise to the local community. We host a variety of activities such as Scout groups, swim classes, overnight camps, STEM days, and triathlons, providing valuable support and engagement opportunities for local organisations and events.
