Our Community

Friends of York House

The Friends of York House works alongside the school community to coordinate fundraising events throughout the year. Run by a committee of parent volunteers, all parents and guardians are automatically members and are warmly invited to attend meetings, become Trustees, or join the rotating committee.

We’re fortunate to have wonderful facilities at York House, and our events—from Fireworks Night to a Summer Street Party—aim to make the most of these spaces while appealing to everyone. We welcome new fundraising ideas and encourage all families to get involved.

We also run a Pre-Loved Uniform Shop (PLUS) which offers affordable school uniforms. It’s a sustainable choice for families, promoting reuse while helping to reduce waste.

The funds raised are invaluable, enabling contributions to initiatives like the new Library, Orchard play area, and additional sports and drama equipment.

Alumni Foundation

The York House Foundation enhances the experiences of our children and our community ensuring that we stay true to the school philosophy of “Leaving people and places better than we found them”, providing educational opportunities to promote life-long learning, with a commitment to our environmental responsibilities, sustainability, historical preservation and working closely with our local community.

Our Vision

To provide bursaries to enable pupils to attend the school.

To preserve the school’s commitment to the environment and outdoor learning by enhancing and sustaining the wider grounds of the school.
To ensure that we are a vital part of our local community providing a facility to promote healthy living and environmental education.
